Albertson's Trip: No coupons!

First let me say that I did end up using 4 coupons, though not originally intended.

With the lack of coupon deals for my family, I wanted to see if I could just take advantage of sales this week at Albertson's and still have good savings.

What do you think? Here's what I got:

12 Gold Peak Singles BOGO @ 1.69 each
2 Taco Bell Hard shell tacos (12 pk) BOGO @ 2.49 each
1 loaf of Albertson's bread @ 1.99 (seriously need to make a run to the bread store)
1 too small jar of Smucker's Strawberry Preserves @ 3.99
2 Heinz Ketchup Dip and Squeeze BOGO @ 2.49 each
2 Gallons of 2% Milk @ 3.39 each
1 large container of Country Crock @ 4.99
2 Frigo String Cheese (16 oz pkg) BOGO @ 6.29
1 Dole Shredded Lettuce @ .88
Bananas 2.22
Apples 4.06
Grapples 3.99
10 assorted plastic bowls on clearance @ .10 each

Coupons Used:
$1/$10 produce from our Sunday "look we might give you TTV coupons, but nah nevermind here are some super lame ones instead" Albertson's ad
$2.99 Milk in ad coupon
2 - $1.00/1 Peelies on the Heinz ketchup

Total O.O.P. = 47.80 savings of 43%

Not the best trip around, but a worthy one I believe. The Heinz Dip and Squeeze had $1/1 peelies on each one. My store at 13th and Grand only had two left. If I could have bought more I would have. Not only were they buy one get one free @ 2.49, both peelies were accepted! No hassle over coupon policy, the register scanned the coupon on the free item with no problems. I got 2 boxes for FOURTY-NINE CENTS! Oh, if only the stock was there. I splurged on the Strawberry Preserves because the hubby had requested I find a good deal on some, and it doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon.

Grapples?! I had heard of them before, but never tried them. So when I needed something yummy fruit-wise to bump me over $10 for the coupon, I figured why not?  Pumpkin loved them and helped herself to a few slices. Buddy liked it at first, but then got bored fast. I think they are a super yummy change from the regular apple. Definitely worth the experience, even at $.99 each.

On to other things, I did have a chance to peruse the ad online. Not much to ooh and ah over. Read speculation that the Starbucks Refreshers *might* turn into a moneymaker. But not holding my breath on that one. I'll believe it when someone does it. I will try and have my Albertson's matchups posted tonight.
